“Every chess master was once a beginner.”

– Irving Chernev

I am US Chess Federation certified coach, organizer, and lifelong aficionado. In 2013 I began the Shenandoah Valley Chess Club to promote the academic and social benefits of chess.

At the current moment… chess organizing is on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. My ability to teach has also been limited by professional commitments.

If you are looking for a coach, I would be happy to refer you to a Master.

Please contact me with any chess-related questions or needs.

Check the club website and social media for updates on our return.

In the meantime, please stay safe and good luck with your games.

As my student, you can expect these services as standard:

  • Game analysis for areas of improvement

  • At home assignments

  • Q & A via emails

  • Online lessons based on training plan and current needs

  • Assistance for participation in tournaments

  • Updates on chess news and developments
